Red Wine Ice Cubes

Some may laugh at the thought of leaving a quarter of a bottle of red, but for some it’s a very common weekly event. So why not put those grapey dregs of goodness to great use and fill an ice cube tray with them – try to do this when not tiddly for less spillage.

Time:

1 Minute + freeze time

Makes:

12 Cubes

Equipment:

  • Ice cube tray
  • Freezer 

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 bottle of red wine

Method: 

  1. Pour into ice cube tray
  2. Freeze for over 4 hours

Suggested Uses:

  • Sangria
  • Bolognaise sauce
  • Vegetable Soup
  • Chicken Stew
  • Veggie Casserole
  • Gravy

Food Hack:

Try a white wine version or even better freeze some juicy seedless white grapes and plop them in your next lukewarm Pinot Grigio!
